DanceArt Learning (DAL)
Movement. Expression. Sharing.
DanceArt Learning (DAL) is an international initiative funded by the Erasmus+ program, created with the aim of transforming aging from a passive process into an active, creative, and participatory experience. Through the integration of contemporary dance, health, and cultural heritage, the project aims to improve the quality of life of older people, with a particular focus on those living with Parkinson’s disease or other motor difficulties.
The project is the result of a transnational collaboration between Italy (ARTE3 APS and NET) and Spain (Asociación ACE), combining artistic, social, and digital skills to promote community well-being and social inclusion.
Inclusive Dance Workshops
The Inclusive Dance Workshops are the driving force behind the project. They consist of a series of meetings (12 in Verona and 12 in León) designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of previous experience or physical abilities.
How are the workshops conducted?
Each meeting is led by an expert team of choreographers, professional dancers, and facilitators, sometimes accompanied by live music. The structure of each session includes:
- Introductory Phase: Presentation of the theme, often inspired by a work of art in the host location.
- Movement Exploration: Practical sessions of adapted contemporary dance, focused on creativity and interaction.
- Final Sharing: A moment of reflection and dialogue to consolidate the bonds created and the experience lived.
Each participant will receive a summary brochure with artistic insights and space for personal reflections, to preserve a tangible memory of the journey undertaken.
Art and Culture: Museums as Living Spaces
Activities take place inside museums and places of historical and artistic interest, which become dynamic settings for rehabilitation and socialization. In addition to workshops, the project includes guided tours where the museum expert’s narration is intertwined with body language, creating a unique bridge between the beauty of art and physical well-being.
Who is the project aimed at?
The project is open to a diverse community, promoting integration between:
- Elderly people with neurodegenerative diseases or motor disabilities.
- Individuals at risk of social isolation who are looking for new opportunities to socialize.
- Caregivers, family members, and friends who want to share a creative experience with their loved ones.
- Healthcare professionals, dancers, and anyone interested in discovering the therapeutic and social value of art.
